Wat Preah Ang Thom(Spartanburg Buddhist Center of SC Inc.) was officially incorporated on August 23, 2010. It was created by the Cambodian-American population of the Upstate South Carolina area and is open to all people interested in Buddhism, Cambodian culture and meditation. Since it’s inception the community, under the guidance of Venerable Ork Ron, has developed and improved the property and buildings on our 9.2 acres to better serve the local Buddhist population. Resident monks perform all typical duties of monastics in the tradition of Theravada Buddhism. Wat Preah Ang Thom seeks to preserve Buddhist and Cambodian traditions and educate all those interested regardless of race or religion.
